Happy Halloween Eve ! Today is Quiet Please-The Thing On The Fourble Floor . Quiet Please aired from 1947 to 1949 on Mutual Broadcasting System and then on ABC Radio .

It was made by Wyllis Cooper and starred Ernest Chappell . What made Quiet Please so different from the other shows of the day is they used very little sound effects or music . It was mostly just him telling you a story and you had to use your imagination to get the most out of it .

The Thing On The Fourble Floor is generally considered to be one of the creepiest stories made . In this episode he is an oil rigger and something escapes when they are drilling . On oil rigs there is a platform part way up the rig , as high as four lengths of pipe . Two lengths is a double , three a thribble , four a fourble , thus the name .
